Bernie was my nephew although he was eight years old when I was born. I was such a frightened child (storms, strangers, new things), but Bernie had a way about him that made me brave. If he was with me I could go on rides at the carnival, try different kinds of food and venture out of my comfort zone. He impacted my life greatly as I'm sure he did to others as well. His life was full. He completed every mission he was assigned. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather. He was a highly successful military man completing every mission with honor. Most importantly, I believe that God sent him to earth on a mission. On February 1, 2017, that mission was completed. Now he can rest. He is home at last with the one that loved him most, Jesus, his creator and his savior. He will be greatly missed..
