Terry Lee Westfall

March 1, 1948 ~ October 28, 2019 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Tribute

Terry Lee Westfall was born in Baker City, Oregon on March 1, 1948 to LaVern and Betty Williamson. Her family moved to Burns, Oregon when she was in the 8th grade where she later graduated from Burns Union High in 1966. At 19 she married her high school sweetheart John Henry Westfall Jr. While John was in the Navy they lived in Bremerton, Washington and Oakland, California.

Upon completion of John’s Naval service, the couple settled in Bend, Oregon where Terry worked in several occupations, most notably as a pharmacy technician at the Bend Pill Box. Terry was very involved in her church, the Bend Church of the Nazarene, where she developed many lifelong friends. Her faith in God sustained her through the hardships of life and her joy in being a child of God was evident. Terry placed her hope in Jesus and wanted others to know that they too could trust Him and belong to the family of God.

Terry was devoted to her family and attended every possible event involving her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She created what became known as “Grandma Terry School” while she cared for the children of family members who were working. Her love for the children was evident as she planned so much fun for them. She loved Halloween and April Fools Day and anytime when the family could be together to celebrate. Her love of Christmas inspired her to invite Santa over every Christmas Eve to join in a few minutes of fun at the family Christmas party.

Terry had a deep love of the ocean and traveling. Taking trips with family and friends was always a highlight for her. She was a strong leader of the family and was largely responsible for ensuring everyone was present for family events. Her efforts to round up this rowdy bunch earned her the honorary title Sergeant Major Westfall. She was a take charge type of person who was always striving to include others in the fun.

Terry earned another family nickname, Dr. Westfall, as she had a talent and passion for caring for the sick. She could bring comfort and healing for everyday problems and more serious conditions. Terry cared for her late husband and, along with her sister Sandra, both of her parents before they passed. Terry was an amazing caregiver who devoted everything she had and made great sacrifices to care for those around her.

On October 28, 2019 Terry finished her fight with brain cancer surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her sister, Sandra O’Leary; her children, Jim, Tammy, Debbie, and Bob; and her grandchildren. She was loved wholeheartedly and will be greatly missed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. South, Nampa, Idaho.
