Tribute

Steven James Frimml was born November 10, 1952 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, the son of Howard and Phyllis Hunzelman Frimml.  He graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1970, later earning a degree in business from Iowa Wesleyan in Mt. Pleasant. He began his professional career at Farmer’s Trust & Savings Bank in Williamsburg, where he remained for several years. He later decided to return to school to gain a degree in physical therapy from the University of Iowa. Steve then took his talents West and worked as a physical therapist for the remainder of his life in Idaho. He was baptized by immersion in May 1984 into the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was an active member and an ordained elder. He sang in the church choir and was always ready to help anyone in need. In 1985, Steve wed Jaymee Dale in Davenport, Iowa, and adopted her son, Richard shortly thereafter. In October of that year the family moved to Idaho. Sadly, their marriage ended in 2002, but they remained the best of friends while raising their son and spending time with their grandchildren. He was an avid football fan, attending Boise Bronco games when he could. He was a generous giving soul. Steve was known for his honesty, and his off-the-cuff dry sense of humor. He always kept his friends and coworkers smiling.

Steve is survived by his son, Richard (Jessica) Frimml of Idaho; his grandchildren, Breanna, Anastasia and Zachary Frimml of Idaho; a brother Dennis Frimml (Deb Strasser) of South Amana; a sister, Cynthia Schmidt (special friend, Timothy Linn) of Ankeny; and two nieces, Kimberly (Corey) Roberts, their children, Nick and Katy Rotter and Kylee Roberts of Williamsburg; and Amber Augustine (special friend, Aaron Blass), and her children Brett, Benjamin and Katelyn Augustine of Ankeny.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
