Rosalie Theresa Mera

July 23, 1935 ~ July 3, 2021 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rosalie Theresa Mera, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her spouse, Victor; her children: Christine, Anthony, and Todd; son-in-law Mike; brother/sister in-law: Raymond, Leonor and family; niece, Lucinda and family; grandchildren: Joshua, Amanda, Krista, Patrick, Jonathan, Michael; great-grandson: Wyatt, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rosalie was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. The city where she met and married the love of her life, Victor, in 1956. She and Victor were married for 65 blissful years.

The couple eventually left Brooklyn and moved to Simi Valley, California, with their three children.  Once in California, Rosalie began working at 3M and volunteering at St. Rose of Lima and St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.  Rosalie had a successful and rewarding career with the 3M Corp for 27 years, until her retirement in 2000. Subsequent to her retirement, Rosalie and Victor moved to Nampa, Idaho, in 2004, to be closer to their daughter, Christine and her family.

Throughout her life, personal and family relationships were her priority. Making it a point to stay in touch with her sister, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends through letters, phone calls, cards, and visits.

As a wife and mother, she made many sacrifices to ensure her family always felt the presence of her love and dedication. She was actively involved in her children’s lives in many aspects; volunteering at school, PTA, assisting with organized sporting events, and being the family chauffeur. She was kind, patient, supportive, encouraging, compassionate and always made us proud.

Rosalie had many interests, however, once her children were grown, she was most passionate about reading, music, and bingo; frequenting Vegas, Laughlin, her local church, and Indian casinos to play keno, slots, and her favorite game, bingo.

She also loved to cook, Italian food was her specialty.

Above all though, she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well.

Thank you, Mom, for always being there with your unconditional love and selflessness.  You will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on July 27, 2021, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 North Meridian Road, Meridian, Idaho.
