Richard C. Hilton

Richard Cannon Hilton (Rich) was born on a United States Air Force base in Munich German on August 16, 1950 and passed peacefully in his sleep May 25, 2019.

Dad was a lover of all things outdoors- camping, fishing, and riding four wheelers and most recently, sunbathing while watching the grandkids play in the backyard. He always had a need for speed and loved to race motorcycles and fast cars… basically anything with wheels including his motorized scooter. Dad was a true mechanic and loved to rebuild motorcycles, even if it meant removing the dining room table so he could rebuild his Harley inside out of the cold.

Dad loved to tell stories about fishing with his uncle as a child, “getting into trouble” with his cousins, Abalone dives and all the other adventures/trouble he got himself in to. He loved music and would never turn down a good concert, this is something he has passed down to his daughters and grandkids. He was proud to be a father to all of us - Tiffany, Shannon and Rene’ but being a grandfather brought him the most joy. He was able to live the last 3 years spending every day with 4 of the 6 grandkids and they knew exactly where they could always snag a cookie. Dad loved his family and friends with all he had and would never hesitate to lend a hand. He had amazing friendships that spanned greater then 50 years that he treasured. He always made sure to tell everyone how proud he was of his three son-in-law’s - Mike, Nathan and Ryan and their service to their country and being wonderful husbands to his girls.

A Celebration of Life is planned at Barber Park Event Center in Boise, Idaho on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 1:00-4:00. Please come and share a story, eat some Dickies BBQ (his favorite!!) and enjoy an afternoon in the sun. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA.org) in dad’s name.
