Tribute

Paul "Tony" Tripp, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020 at the age of 75.

Tony was born to George and Alice Tripp on August 14th, 1945 in Watertown, New York. He dedicated his life to his career in Social Work, obtaining a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan and dual licensure as a Clinical Social Worker and Marriage Family Therapist, with a specialty in Grief Counseling. Alongside these accomplishments, he worked for Catholic charities. Tony proudly served his county in the US Army as Chaplain’s Assistant and as an Infantryman in Vietnam. He was a devout man of God and found peace in his life through his faith in Christ.

After moving to Nampa, Idaho, Tony helped start the Friends of Deer Flat Refuge with his wife, Noreen. Together, they also grew their faith in God and each other by attending Nampa College Church. Tony was a gifted writer and exercised his talent by writing a Bible study for their church group on one of his favorite versus, Our Father. His proclaimed role models were Jesus Christ and his father-in-law Dr. Bill Forney. Some of Tony’s fondest memories were backpacking and hiking with his children. He also found abundant pleasure in thrift store shopping, often collecting silly gag gifts for his favorite holiday: Christmas.

Tony devoted his entire life to his most beloved roles: being an amazing father, grandfather, and supportive husband. Tony was and will always be a guiding light of wisdom and humility and a steadfast rock during times of strife for his loved ones. They will sincerely miss his good judgement, sound advice and insight, his delightful—and at times—unusual dry humor, as well as his spiritual guidance. Tony felt deeply, loved strongly, gave generously, and was an anchor for many.

Tony was 1 of 13 children. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years: Noreen; children: Justin and Brie Tripp, LovelyAnn Lamb, and Anthony and Daniel Carson; siblings: Alice, Mike, Kay, Peggy, Eleanor, Helen and Judy; and his beloved nine grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, and siblings: George, Peter, Patrick, Joe and Mary.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in his honor on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at 1PM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel: 404 10th Ave S, Nampa, ID 83651. The service will be livestreamed to allow all to attend.
