Norman “Norm” Rambo, beloved husband, father, and grandpa, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 7, 2017 at his paradise in Kooskia, Idaho.

He was born on May 20, 1959 to Bryan and Ruby Rambo in Nampa, ID. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1977 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Boise State University. He married Julie Howell in 1987, and they had two children Marshall and Morgan. Some of Norm’s fondest memories of his family, were the times spent riding dirt bikes with his son Marshall and taking pack trips into the mountains with his daughter Morgan. He was very proud of his children and loved them very much.

Norm grew up and worked in the family business for many years. He later went on to be elected a Nampa Highway District Commissioner, a position he held for 8 years. During his campaign, he went door to door, informing voters that he would make sure their tax dollars were spent wisely.

On Valentine’s Day 2012, Norm met Cheryl (Skooter) Emmons all because of a horse named Shrek. The first time “Skooter” saw her “Big Bear”, he was standing at the gate in a green sweater, shorts and snow boots, since there was snow falling.  Norm and Cheryl went on many adventures together fishing and riding their horses. One of their best memories though was when they were married in 2015. They put on their best 1880’s attire and had some great pictures taken. Later that week, Norm located their dream home in Kooskia, ID. He picked the property out all by himself knowing Cheryl would love it. Twenty acres with a farmhouse on top of the mountain. It didn’t even take Cheryl five minutes to give her overwhelming approval of Norm’s choice.

Norm made many friends everywhere he went. His infectious smile would light up any room.  He made many friends in his new town in a short time. Norm was always willing to help out friends and neighbors alike, using his talents as a mechanic. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Marshall of Boise, ID; Morgan (Nate) of Kuna, ID; Kimberly (Roy) Ferebee of Nampa, ID; brother Tim (Jane) Rambo of Nampa, ID; sister Kathleen(Bernie) Wolford of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Cyrus Scott and Izabella and Dierks Ferebee, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave S. Nampa, ID on Friday November 17, 2017 at 3:00 PM. Graveside services in Eastside Cemetery in Midvale, ID at 12:00 PM on Saturday November 18, 2017.
