Mary Francis Brooks

Mary Francis Brooks, 69, of Caldwell died at her home on Tuesday February 2nd 2021 of natural causes. She was born May 1st 1951 in Twin Falls Idaho to Mary Josephine Brooks and Francis Royal “Roy” Brooks. She lived her younger years in Hazelton, and King Hill Idaho. Her mother passed away when she was young and she spent her adolescent years between her Father in Hazelton, and her brother Everett Studer Sr. in Nampa Idaho, moving permanently to Nampa after her father’s death in 1967. She attended Valley High School in Hazelton, Nampa Christian High, and she graduated from Nampa High School in 1969. She married Rusty Arlo Pokorney in 1969 and they had two sons Russell Wayne, and Roy Michael Pokorney. Rusty died in a tragic accident in 1974. She married Eddie Ray Brooks in 1978, and they had one son Wayne Michael Brooks. She retired from a long career at JR Simplot Co. in 2014. In her retirement Mary was active with her church and enjoyed being a part of ladies’ groups sharing her love for the Lord. She especially enjoyed church camps for which she looked forward to attending each year. She is survived by her three sons, her Sister Roma Studer of Hazelton, 11 grandchildren, her Mother-in-Law Ardeth Cobble of Nampa for whom she loved as her own mother, her daughter’s in-law, and many brother & sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husbands, her brother, and her sister Roseanna Fraser of Texas. An at will viewing will be held from 10-2 Monday February 8th with a memorial service at 2pm at the Alsip funeral home 404 10th Ave S. Nampa. The service will be simulcast for those unable to attend in person.
