Mary Ann Huter

Mary Ann Huter, 83, of Nampa went to see Jesus on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at home with her family.

Mary Ann was born May 23, 1934 In Tyndall, South Dakota to George and Mary (Janosik) Brocko . At age 1 she moved to Nampa with her parents and older sister, Olga due to the depression. Her parents bought 40 acres in the Lone Tree District on Can Ada Road. She attended Lone Tree School and graduated from Nampa High School. After high school she worked at Save More Drug, Dr. HP Belknap, and Bird’s Eye.

As Marvin tells the story, he was looking for someone to take to the Christmas and New Year’s dance. He saw this pretty girl walking down the street and he thought he would ask her. Marvin Huter and Mary Ann were married on November 7, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church in Nampa. In 1957 she traveled to Germany to join Marvin who was in The Army 95th Engineers. They returned in 1958. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. They had 2 sons, Jeff and Doug. Mary Ann and Marvin were farmers, working with Marvin’s 4 brothers for 53 years.  Mary Ann loved cooking and taking care of her family. After the kids graduated she worked as a cook at Franklin and Midway Schools.

Mary Ann was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Nampa, Nampa Lady Elks and a Charter member of the Civic Center Ladies Auxillary.  After they retired from the farm, they spent their winters in Yuma meeting many new friends.

Mary Ann loved her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin. Her sons, Jeff and Diann Huter, Doug and Barb Huter. Sister, Olga and Edward Kozacek. Brother-in-laws, Ray and Dorothy Huter, Earl and Patsy Huter, Norm Huter. 5 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren along with numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceeded in death by brother-in-law Melvin Huter, sister-in-laws Betty Huter and Marilyn Huter.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Monday, April 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Alsip Funeral Home, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa. The memorial service will be held Tuesday April 10th at 11:00 am at First United Presbyterian Church , 400 Lake Lowell Avenue, Nampa. Reception to follow.
