Louie Gene Hansen

February 17, 1965 ~ September 13, 2018 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Tribute

Louie Gene Hansen was a sweet soul who passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 peacefully in his sleep.  Mere words cannot describe this beautiful and amazing man who loved life and his family.

Louie was born February 17, 1965 to Billy Sr. and Gerrie Hansen in Nampa, Idaho. He was the love of their life and held a very special place in many people's lives!!!

As a child, Louie was the typical boy. He embraced adventure and was always up to having fun.  He loved the outdoors, especially the mountains.  His parents had a cabin in New Centerville where he loved to spend time.  There wasn't a weekend growing up that he didn't explore nature or ride his dirt bike on those old mountain roads.  He also cherished fishing, hunting, and swimming in those beautiful mountain streams.  Louie was a registered Native American Indian from the Miwok Tribe.  As a nature lover he appreciated what this land has to offer all of us.

When Louie became an adult, he married Cathy Patterson on October 8, 1983.  Together they had two beautiful children, Joshua and Venessa.  These two children were the blessings of his life and he loved them dearly to the end of his days.  There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't tell everyone how much he loved them and how proud he was of them.

As time went on, Louie's first marriage ended but he then found love again with Cathie Pendleton.  Louie and Cathie had known each other most of their lives so it was an easy transition from friends to passionate union.  They were married on May 5, 2005 and were together until his passing where they had numerous happy years of marriage.

If you knew Louie, you were blessed!  He was the nicest person to everyone he met.  He loved unconditionally and would do anything for anyone. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.  He was also remarkably funny and jumped at the opportunity to make people laugh.  These wonderful assets were easy for him because it came naturally.  In these last years of his life, he savored cruising around and viewing the wonderful sights this valley had to offer.  His passing is hard because he was so young but we can all take comfort knowing he is no longer in pain instead he is in Heaven rejoicing with his mom, dad, and other family members who have went before him.

Louie is survived by his wife, Cathie Hansen, his children, Joshua (Amanda) Hansen and Venessa (Joey) Vickers along with his step children, Ben Pendleton and Airielle (Evan) Ellis, his brothers, Wes Poindexter, Dan (Beth) Poindexter, Dave Poindexter, and Billy Gene (Hawk) Hansen Jr., his sisters, Darlene (Una) Shinaberry, Elena (Steve) Vis, and Becky (Jerry) Hackney, his grandchildren, Ginger, Zoey, Penelope, Hartley, Cyrus, and Wyatt along with his step-grandchildren, Kaidence, Kaileigh, Tommy and Bentley, as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all adored him.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bill and Gerrie Hansen, his paternal and maternal grandparents, Louie Ottis Hansen, Elaine McGrill, Mary Alloway, Tom and Frieda Ward and also his nephew, Jacob Shinabery and stepson, Brenden Pendleton.
