Lawrence “Bud” Zerger

Nov. 22, 1929 – April 17, 2021

Lawrence Bud Zerger of Nampa, ID passed from this life on Saturday April 17, 2021 while at St Luke’s Hospital in Nampa following a short illness.

Bud was born on Nov 22, 1929 in Tule Lake, California. He was the only son of Rudolph & Bertha Zerger. He had two sisters, Juanita and Adeline. He served in the army during the Korean War. While stationed in California during the early 50’s he met and married Catherine Thomas. They had 4 daughters, Judy, Debra Susan, Rhonda Lauri and two stepchildren, John Hicks and Jennifer Hicks Roberts.

After Bud and Catherine divorced in the 70’s he met and married Shirley Slattery. She brought three children to the marriage, David, Jake, and Becky. Bud was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Bud enjoyed bowling, Hunting with his son in law and grandson, camping, dart league with his oldest grandson Bill, gardening, horseshoes, sitting around the firepit in the backyard listening to Boise State Football games on the radio. Most of all he enjoyed helping others.

His strong love of God comes from his family’s unwavering devotion and has endured throughout his 91 years of life.

The family would like to thank his care team at St Luke in Nampa for all their love and care during his time of need.

Church Services will be held at 11 am on April 23, 2021 at Harvest Life Church 11437 W. Orchard Ave in Nampa. Graveside services immediately following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 Indiana Ave in Caldwell. Pastor Dave Whaley and visiting Pastor Jim York.

Due to ongoing social gathering limitations, there will not be a gathering afterwards. The family hopes to celebrate Bud’s life at a later date.
