Jorge is survived in life by the love of his life, his wife Maria Olga Valdez, his mother Maria De Refujio Valdez, his children Mary Elizabeth Olvera, Noemi Valdez, Jorge Valdez Jr, and Ruth Valdez, alongside his 15 grandchildren, his sisters Maria Criselda Gonzales, Margarita Alfaro, and Bertha Alicia Aguierre, his brothers Javier Valdez, Joseluis Valdez, Reynaldo Valdez, and Hector Hugo Valdez.
He was preceded in death by his father Guadalupe Efrain Valdez, his niece Sonya Valdez Guzman, and so many loved ones.
A wise man was my father with many biblical words and phrases, who didn't fall short of many talents. Our father, Jorge, was a hardworking man, always putting his all in everything. From his younger years, he worked in the fields, then later also did fire fighting alongside his father and brothers. He worked many years doing fieldwork where he later retired from.
A man with many God-given gifts and talents, he did everything from mechanics to construction. His passion was always serving our lord. One of our best memories about him was when he would sit and recite the Bible out loud to where we would all hear him. If anyone ever heard him recite the Bible, they were blessed. His voice was so profound and detailed. The way he would sing would bring anyone to tears. He loved to sing his favorite hymns, even hum them. Everyone would say he was a stern man, but we'd say he had a huge heart.
He loved his grandchildren more than anything and they knew this. "When we recall the memories of our father, we will never forget his endless love for us... cuz' our grandpa will always be with us!"
