On Monday, September 9, 2019, John Willette, loving husband, father of 3 children, and 4 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 78.
John was born on May 14, 1941 in Fort Benton, Montana to Valmer and Margaret (Zimmer) Willette. On June 28, 1969, he married Connie Lee Evans. They raised one daughter, Rene, and two sons, Scott and Jason.
John was a proud Air Force veteran serving over 26 years, including in Vietnam, as a weapons specialist. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in June 1989. After retiring from the Air Force, John had a second career with Micron as a fabrication machine technician.
Growing up in southern California gave John a love of the ocean and years in Idaho developed a love for the mountains, camping, and fishing. He was also known as an avid tinkerer. There wasn’t something broken around the house that he couldn’t fix, or that needed making that he couldn’t make.
John was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother, Don, and sister, Beverly. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his three children, Rene, Scott, and Jason; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph, Christian, and Tyler. John requested no funeral services, with a small family ceremony to be at a later date to scatter his ashes at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
