John David Scholl Sr.

On Friday, May 25^th, 2018 John Scholl Sr. of Nampa, formerly of Wilder, Idaho went home to live with his savior. John was born August 3, 1949 in Sturgis, South Dakota to David and Ella (Ulrich) Scholl. John grew up in South Dakota, until the age of 17, helping his dad farm.

When John was 17 his family moved to Nampa, Idaho. He graduated from Nampa High in 1968. John enlisted in the Idaho National Guard in July 1968. John was employed as a welder for Ace Supply and Armour Meat Packing. After leaving Armour he went to work for Boise Project Board of Control where he worked for 32 years, retiring in 2012. John’s greatest pastime was riding his Harley. He often commented on how much he loved the freedom he felt when he was riding. He also loved pitching horseshoes with his best friend and 4-wheeling. When the weather was nice you could always hear the sound of the Harley, the clanking of the horseshoes, or he would be eating the dust while 4-wheeling.

John is survived by his wife, Denise, four sons; Jim (Carol) Scholl, John (Stefanie) Scholl, Josh (Tonijo) Scholl, Jay (Misty) Scholl, 14 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, 2 sisters; Kay Watkins and Diana Scholl, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, David, mother, Ella, and brother, Gary.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 6:00PM-9:00PM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10^th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho 83651. Funeral Service will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel. A Graveside Service will follow beginning at 11:30AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 S. Indiana Ave, Caldwell, Idaho 83607. Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10^th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho 83651.
