John Roy Eddlemon

November 15, 1942 ~ November 12, 2019 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

John R Eddlemon 76 of Nampa passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at a local hospital with his family at his side.

John was born on November 15, 1942 to Roy and Charlotte Eddlemon of Nampa where he resided at the same residence for 76 years. John attended Meridian High School and graduated in 1960. After high school John attended Reisch school of auctioneering in Iowa, following completion. John then met the love of his life Kathleen Jaworski, they were married on December 10, 1965. Where they lived on the family farm. During this time John and Kathleen had two daughters Shon and Lucinda.

John was a hard-working dairyman who raised registered Holstein dairy cattle, and registered Landrace pigs. He served many years as a member of the Meridian Dairy show board, received many awards for his cattle, pigs, and farm. Most recently was named the Farm Family Today at the Western Idaho fair. He showed many years at the Western Idaho fair while in 4-H and FFA as well as in open class. He also assisted his daughters during their time in 4-H and FFA, as well as showing at the Idaho State black-and-white show. Besides his dairy cattle he had a great love of raising pigs which were sold to numerous 4-H and FFA kids around the treasure Valley, as well as sold them to local markets. He was a die-hard farmer to the end. John and his wife Kathleen also have a small greenhouse business that has been going since 1995.

John and his family are members of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa and he is a fourth-degree knight with the Knights of Columbus Nampa chapter.

John’s greatest love these last seven years have been his twin grandchildren. He has always loved to take them fishing, to the park, on short trips to the mountains, to the fairs, or just to get an ice cream cone. Like his license plate holder reads “Grandpas my name, spoilin’s my game!” Over the years he has enjoyed Boise State football and has turned his grandson into a Bronco fan as well. There hasn’t been a day in his life that he hasn’t either seen them or spoken with him on the phone. They truly have been the joy of his life.

John is preceded in death by his mother Charlotte and father Roy Eddlemon of Nampa. And a sister Lovetra Gallinger of Salem Oregon. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Kathleen (Jaworski) Eddlemon. His daughter Shon Eddlemon of Nampa. Daughter and son in law Lucinda and Patrick Hodges with their children Evan and Aurora. Nieces and nephews. Along with many dear friends.
