Janet Lynn Benson

Janet Lynn Benson, 70, of Nampa, Idaho went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 22nd, 2022 at home with family after a long battle with cancer.

Janet was born in Lindsey, CA on July 27th, 1951, the oldest daughter of Ben and Barbara Hawthorne. 

Janet graduated from Porterville Union High School (Porterville, CA) Class of 1969. Following high school Janet attended Western Baptist Bible College in Salem, Oregon before moving to Boise Idaho. 

In 1978 Janet met the love of her life Patrick and in July 1980 the two were married in Boise, Idaho.

Making their home in Nampa, Idaho, Janet was a stay at home wife and mother and always made sure that the needs of the family were met. Janet was very involved in her church and loved spending time in the kitchen and cooking for the kids and staff during summer church camps at Warm Lake and later McCall. 

Janet was able to fulfill a life long dream of owning and running a used bookstore and coffee shop in downtown Nampa. All while homeschooling the kids. 

She is survived by her children Nathan Benson (Erica) Nampa, ID, Jared Benson (Jasmine) Nampa, ID, Darryl Benson Boise, ID and Nikkole Weninger (Morgan) Richland, WA. She is also survived by her sister Jeannie Carson, numerous nieces and nephews and 20 grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday June 22nd, 11:00am at New Home Baptist Church, 1829 W Iowa Ave; Nampa, ID 83686.
