James Lee Thomas entered the presence of his Lord in the early morning hour of August 25, 2017.

James was born December 15, 1931 in Pennsylvania, the youngest of four boys.  He graduated from high school in June of 1949.  James joined the United States Air Force soon after graduation and became a MP.  While in the Air Force, he married Marie Ennis in February of 1952.  James and Marie welcomed four children to their family; Jeffrey, David (Cathy), Kelly Thomas-Stoddard, James (Gina).  James and Maried were divorced in June of 1977.

James tried many different careers, finally settling on photography after taking college photography and writing classes in Michigan and Massachusetts.

James married Jeanette Magee in November of 1979.  Jeanette had four children; Sheryl (Michael) Geisler, Michael (Beth), Dorothy (Paul) Canary and Ron.  Soon after James and Jeanette were married, they moved with Dorothy and Ron to Nampa, Idaho where he opened Viewpoint Photography. James retired from his business in the mid 1990's.

James enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was camping in his fifth wheel, hunting and training bird dogs, taking pictures of fishing with his own world famous flies.  James was an inventor and processed a method of manufacturing bowstrings and founded Magnum Bowstrings.  He was a gentle man with an immense amount of love for family.  He was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was greatly love by those who knew him and will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers.  He leaved behind his wife, children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James, may you rest in peace safely within the arms of God.  The earth is poorer with its loss, while heaven is richer with its gain.

Private family services were held at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
