James Ralph Dyer was born to Mark and Mary Dyer on September 4, 1944. Destined to be a farmer, he grew up working the family farm in Melba.
Jim graduated from Melba High School in 1962, and married the love of his life, Linda Hunter on June 28, 1964. He was drafted in 1966 into the Army and station in Germany as a radio mechanic during the Vietnam War. Returning home, he went back to his passion of farming. He raised many bumper crops and with Linda by his side raised two children, John and JoLynn. Jim was well known for his sense of humor and practical jokes as well as his generosity and kindness, he could always be counted on to help anyone in need. Jim is survived by his wife, Linda; children, John (Kristi) and JoLynn (David); grandchildren, Levi (Sally), Rebekah (Connor), Adrianna, and Katelinn; sisters, Julia, Martha, and Mary Jane; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Mary Dyer; and two brothers, Joe and Jay Dyer.
Services will be held at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa.
