Helen L. Grove

Helen Luster Grove was born in Payson, Oklahoma on February 6, 1935.  Later that year, Helen moved with her family to Dixie, Idaho.  In 1936, they moved again to Cascade, Idaho.  The family moved around the area and finally settled in Nampa, Idaho in 1947.

Nampa is where Helen Luster attended high school and met John Grove.  They married in November of 1956.  Helen and John continued to move around the state of Idaho with John’s career in education.  Helen and John were blessed with three children during this time: Jeffrey, Gregory and Erika.

IN 1955, Helen worked in the Idaho State House.  She later was a legal secretary, a hospital cook and retired in 1998 from the Southwest District Health office in Caldwell.

Helen enjoyed baking, needlepointing, cross-stitching, crossword puzzles and decorating for the holidays.  As her health started to fail, she still enjoyed seeing the changing of the Idaho seasons and all the different birds in the feeders outdoors.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, John Grove and her two sons, Jeffrey and Gregory Grove.

She is survived by her daughter, Erika Pook; her three sisters, Betty Jensen, Carol Johnson and Katherine (Marlene) Jepko; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Per Helen’s wishes, there will be no services.
