Gretchen L Nutt

Gretchen Love Nutt, 90, of Nampa went home to be with Jesus and dance with the angels at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4 at St. Al’s Hospital surrounded by family. Gretchen was born on October 8, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona to Jack Gordon Ashworth and Jean Elizabeth Walker Ashworth.

Her family moved to Southern California when she was a child She graduated from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, California. She met her “Billy” in 1948 and they married in Glendale, California on June 23, 1951. They had three children, Gerry, Leslee and Raymond and lived in the Antelope Valley in Southern California until 1989 when they moved to Nampa, Idaho.

Gretchen spent many years working for a local school district in the Antelope Valley; was very involved in the LA County Fire Ladies Auxiliary group; lead numerous bible studies, women and children’s ministries and traveled the country and world with Billy doing mission work.

A strong, faithful Christian who was passionate about the Lord, she had a heart of gold and a positive impact on every single person she met. Everyone who met her felt her unconditional love and compassion. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by so many.

Gretchen is survived by her husband William, her children Gerry (Diana) Nutt of Kuna, ID, Leslee (Ted) Whiteman of Meridian, ID, Raymond (Heather) Nutt of Los Angeles, CA, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 17 at 1 p.m. at Alsip and Person’s Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, ID.
