Edward (Ed) Paul Krause

Edward (Ed) Paul Krause, 84, of Nampa, ID, passed away surrounded by his children on March 30th, 2022, after a short battle with influenza.

Ed, known as Bud to his siblings, was born October 7th, 1937 to Paul and Eva Krause in Huron, SD. His early years were spent on a family farm and later in Wolsey, where he met the love of his life, Gail Pribyl. After a tour in the Navy in San Diego, where he served on the U.S.S. Norton, he and his wife moved their young family to Huron SD. They lived there until 1970 when they moved to Nampa, ID.

Ed was a very social man. He and Gail were active in the Presbyterian church, square dancing, family camping trips, summer vacations, and many games of cards and skill with family and friends in Huron. Ed also played in local softball and basketball leagues. After they moved to Nampa he continued with his social activities, including membership in the Elks, amateur/professional cornhole games, and many family gatherings. At the time of his death, he was active in the Nampa Senior Center, where he was an avid pinochle player, and he exercised regularly at the Nampa Recreation Center.

Ed is survived by his 4 children, Rick Krause of Seattle, Scott (Lorri) Krause of Nampa, Robin McPeak of Clarkston, and Shawn (David) Chavez of Boise. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife Gail, his parents, 3 siblings, and 1 grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa on April 13th at 4:00 PM with a visitation and reception to follow. Burial will be at the V.A. Cemetery in Boise on April 14th at 1 pm. The burial will start with an escorted procession from Alsip and Persons at 11:30 am.
