March 29, 1929 ~ August 19, 2021 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Tribute

Dorothy Mae Fuller Roberson, age 92, died peacefully surrounded by her family on August 19, 2021.

She was born March 29, 1929 in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, the oldest daughter of James T Fuller and Laura Fern Ward Fuller.

She was raised near Mosquero, located on a high mesa in NE New Mexico.  Her childhood was full of adventures on the 320 acre family homestead.  She loved playing with her two younger sisters, riding horses and helping her dad with the cattle and crops. It was a tough life while battling the weather and the rattlesnakes, but she loved it, and told many stories about her life there.  Her early childhood instilled a strong work ethic that she passed onto her children.

She met and married the love of her life, James A. Roberson, March, 1946.  They moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1951.  James and Dorothy had a lifetime of joy watching their family grow.  They were blessed with seven children, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  They lived for many years on five acres near Caldwell, Idaho where they had a beautiful garden, raised cattle, horses and various animals.  They were married for 64 years and loved camping, traveling, sightseeing and spending time around the kitchen table visiting with family. James died in 2010.

She was a homemaker and a great cook.  She was known for her maple bars and homemade bread.  She enjoyed canning, genealogy and discussing politics!  She was a tough conservative woman, with strong opinions who ruled her home and family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Betty (Ron) Bolin, Jack (Shelley) Roberson, Susan (Bill) Thompson, Debra (David) Shultz, Ed (Anita) Roberson and Cathy (Ervin) Hunsperger.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sisters, Georgia Wadsworth and Jimmy Bond, her oldest son, James A Roberson Jr., her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Roberson, and her beloved husband, James.

Dorothy's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Hunsperger family for the many years of loving care.  We would also like to thank Harmony Hills Assisted Living in Meridian, Idaho and Encompass Hospice for the care provided for our mother in her final days.

A grave side memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held for her family at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.
