Dorothy Lorraine Hunter

Dorothy Lorraine Dilley Hunter was born April 30, 1922 to Jesse and Thelma Dilley near Wenatchee, WA. She was the first of six children. Mom graduated Cheney High School in 1940 followed by a year at Western Baptist Seminary. In 1963 she graduated from the College of Idaho with a BA in education.

On April 21, 1946 Bob Hunter and Lorraine Dilley were married in Mt. Pleasant, WA. They have three children: Laura, Linda and Bill. Mom and Dad moved to Idaho in 1948 and lived in Kuna many years.

Mom taught at Indian Creek School about 18 years. When she retired she bought a home across the street from the playground! She enjoyed bird watching, oil painting, water color, fishing and camping with Dad and traveling with her brother.

Bob and Lorraine were members of Kuna Baptist Church. Mom taught Sunday school, children’s church, Vacation Bible School, and a women’s Bible study. Not all at once, of course, but she loved her Savior and she loved to teach. Teaching about her Savior brought her great joy.

Mom went to be with her Savior on September 24, 2018. She will be remembered by Laura, Linda, Bill, Bambi, John, Joel and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

Services are under the direction and care of Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Kuna Cemetery (1321 W Boise St., Kuna, ID 83634); followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Kuna Baptist Church (1250 Linder Rd, Kuna, ID 83634).
