Donna Yvonne Schmidt

Donna Yvonne Schmidt departed her family on October 3, 2021.

Donna was born in Bowler Wisconsin on January 10, 1938 to Agnes and Edward Beilke, the sixth of seventeen chidren. She attended all 12 years of school in Bowler. Upon graduating she eventually moved to Chicago Illinois after tech school, and worked at Western Electric. While in Chicago she met her husband and father of her six children. They moved back to Wisonsin, and settled initially in Milwaukee. After a number of other moves in Wisconsin they next moved to Texas, and then Colorado and finally to Idaho.

Donna went to work for the State of Idaho and retired after 31 years. She started at entry level clerical staff and retired as region director. She mentioned her greatest honor at work, was personally receiving an award from governor Phil Batt.

She is survived by her daughters Kerrie J. Jacobsen and Colleen S. Schmidt, her sons Robert H. Griffin, John P. Griffin and Brian C. Griffin. Her grandchildren Bobby-Sue Vetterman, Robert Griffin III, Leon Griffin, Nichole Griffin, Janel Nichols, Stephanie Womack, Amanda Androlewicz and Laura VanHoof, and numerous great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her son, Sean M. Griffin, in 2015 and her grandson Lance O’Krakel in 2017.

Viewing will be held at Alsip Funeral Home, Nampa Idaho Funeral Home on Friday October 8, 2021 from 3 to 6 PM. Grave side services will be at 3 PM at Hillcrest  on October 9, 2021.
