Delores May Blickenstaff

Delores May (Cannady) Blickenstaff, 89, of Nampa, passed away on Tuesday, June 27^th, 2018.  Delores was born in Nampa, Idaho to Olin and Alma Cannady on October 1, 1928.  She graduated from Nampa High School, and shortly afterward, married her true love, LeRoy Blickenstaff, on October 5, 1947.   They were married for 55 years until LeRoy’s death in 2002. 

LeRoy was a farmer and Delores became a farmer’s wife.  Delores was a member of the Nampa Church of the Brethren.  She was active in women’s work and she sang in the church choir.  LeRoy and Delores were faithful members of the Friendship Sunday School class. 

Delores was passionate about cooking and baking.  She always had a well-stocked kitchen and knew just exactly where everything was.  She collected hundreds of recipes and prepared most of them.  She took pride in her home and loved to decorate it.  She loved flowers, creating crafts, playing cards, and reading.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she had a contagious smile. 

Delores is survived by her children: Michael (Marilyn) Blickenstaff, Deanna (Darrell) Carr, MaryAnn (Gary) Sedlacek, and John Blickenstaff (Jesse Tavarez); her grandchildren: Sara (Scott) Forthofer, Erin (Corey) Ramirez, Corin (Emmett) Wemp, Adam (Mindee) Sedlacek, and Derek (Jamie) Carr; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Jean Boehlke, and many nieces and nephews. 

Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 5^th, 2018 at 2:00PM at the Nampa Church of the Brethren, 11030 W. Orchard Avenue, Nampa, Idaho 83651.
