Deborah Faye Amburgey

Deborah Faye Amburgey, 61, went to be with the Lord on December 20th while living and serving at the Hope House in Marsing, Idaho. She graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1978 where she entered a loving relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She then obtained a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Special Education and Speech Pathology from the University of La Verne in 1983. Returning to Garden Grove, she began her teaching career.

Deb met her husband Kevin in 1985, marrying the following year. Deb and Kevin moved to Santa Maria where they both taught together in the Orcutt Union School District. Deb left her career in education to begin raising her children. She continued this through the family’s move to Big Bear, California where they settled down for the next 18 years. In the following season of life, Deb and Kevin were blessed to move back to Orange County to the city of Huntington Beach followed by a final move to Idaho.

Throughout her journey, Deb passionately used her God-given gift of teaching to share the word of Jesus with others. This was demonstrated by her close groups of friends that she made everywhere she went.

Some of her favorite past times were studying God’s word, traveling, camping, and going to the beach. No matter the activity, Deb could always be found with a book in her hand and a cup of tea at her side. As a loving mother and devout fan, she spent much of her time attending her children’s sports games and activities.

Deb is survived by her husband, Kevin; children, Chris, Kyle, Brad, and Rachel; father, John; siblings, Mike, Pam, Renee, Chris; grandchildren, Ryan, Regan, with another soon to be born. She was preceded in death by her brother Tim and her mother Kaye.

She will be deeply missed by all friends, family, and those whose lives she touched.
