Crystal J. Johannessen, 64, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her home. She was born on May 19, 1953 in Hawthorne, Nevada to Harold W. and Dorothy (Ferguson) Troughton. She was married on May 14, 1971 in Nampa, to Joseph K. Johannessen; together they had four children, Josie, Cristy, Joseph Jr., and Angel. They spent 40 years of marriage together until his passing in April of 2012.

Crystal worked for J.R. Simplot for 34 years until her retirement in 2009. She had many hobbies including bowling, camping, traveling, and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Troughton of Nampa; two brothers, Ronald Troughton of Newport, OR, and Thomas Troughton of Nampa; a sister, Carol Troughton of Fruitland, ID; two daughters, Josie (Paul) Ward, and Cristy Johannessen both of Nampa; and one son, Joseph K. Johannessen Jr. also of Nampa; along with six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members.

Crystal is preceded in death by her daughter, Angel J. Johannessen; husband, Joseph K. Johannessen Sr.; father, Harold W. Troughton; brother, Robert Troughton; and father and mother-in-law, Peter and Jody Johannessen.

A memorial service to honor Crystal’s life has been scheduled for 5:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10^th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 S Indiana Ave, Caldwell, ID 83605.
