Clarissa Francis Nelson, 99, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Sunny Ridge Assisted Living in Nampa.

She was born on July 23, 1918 to Clyde and Clara Lindsey in Wilder.

Clarissa worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Nampa School District #131 for 11 years.

She married Jay R. Nelson on October 1, 1939 in Nampa.  To this marriage, two sons were born, Larry and Lyle Nelson.

In her free time, Clarissa enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting pictures and painting china.  She has painted cases upon cases of china.

Clarissa attended Nampa First United Methodist Church for many years.  She was even the oldest living member of the church.

She is survived by one son, Lyle Nelson of Nampa, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Clarissa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, Larry.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651.  Graveside committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.
