Clarence “Gary” Brown was born November 22, 1944 in San Diego, CA. He joined the family of Clarence “Buster” and Thelma Brown along with his sister Janice. Robert came along several years later.  He spent his early years in Emory, Texas at the knee of his beloved grandfather, Cleburn Garrett. Gary learned to farm, drive tractor and love the Lord from Pap. They had many discussions about the Bible on the front porch of the old farmhouse. Surrounded by his Idaho family, he passed away June 17, due to a short fight with a deadly cancer.

Gary also spent time overseas in different locations where his father Buster was working the oil fields. He had many stories of his escapades in Trinidad. He graduated high school in Canton Texas and there began his lifelong love of cars and trucks. Once he tasted the thrill of the open road in a big truck he continued driving and logged more than a million miles. He was his happiest when he was driving a vehicle with a trailer behind.

Gary lived for a time California and had a daughter, Krysta. He served time in the Army during the Viet Nam war. He married Earlene Goodman in Nampa, Idaho in March of 1995. They moved to Texas in 1997, living in Mineola for 18 years. Idaho was home though and Gary and Earlene moved back to Nampa in 2016.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and father and mother-in-law, Charlie and Gladys Gott. He is survived by his wife Earlene, brother Robert and Mary Brown of Garland, Texas, sister Janice Russell of Hallsville, Texas, step-mother, Helen Brown of Oroville, CA., stepson Rocky and Kris Goodman, Denver, CO., step granddaughters,  Angela Goff, Emily Olguin, and Madyson Rhody, his favorite nurse, Renee Royce and 2 nephews and 3 nieces.

            Wonderful in home care was provided by Horizon Hospice and Multicare Home Health.

A celebration of his life, led by Jeff Stallings and John Henry, will be held Saturday, June 24, 3PM at the New Covenant Baptist church on Lake Lowell Ave with a time of visitation after the service.
