Betty Ruth Orear, 85, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend, passed away at home in Mesa, Arizona on Thursday, November 10, 2022, after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer just two weeks prior. She is survived by her husband Bob Orear, daughters Lorrie Wegner and Vicki Smith, son Rob Orear, sisters Elsie Johnson and Eleanor Jones, and 6 grandchildren.
She was born April 6, 1937 in Merced, California to the late Willie and Ruth Blevins. She married the love of her life, Bob Orear at the age of 17, on June 6, 1954. Their 68-year marriage was an epic love story. Betty was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom to 3 children. Her family was second only to God. She loved reading, gardening, crocheting, quilting, and crafting.
Seeing their children grown, they devoted their lives to the Church and Bob became a full-time preacher for the Church of Christ. They traveled and lived all over the United Sates until 2007 when they settled in Arizona. With Betty’s sweet demeanor and selflessness, she has made many lifelong friends through the years – she was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
Although they lived in many States, her wish was to be buried in Idaho – she always considered it home. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave S, Nampa, Idaho, with graveside services following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, S Indiana Ave & Hwy 55, Caldwell.
