Bernard Lee Clark, Shorty to most who knew him, of Nampa, Idaho passed away at the age of 93 on December 29, 2020. Bernard was born in Boise, Idaho on August 28, 1927 to JB and Ellen Clark. He was the youngest of three children, all boys. JB gave him the nickname of Shorty when he was old enough to walk and that was the name that stuck. Shorty attended Meridian High School, where he graduated in 1945. He joined the Army in 1946. He spent time on the USS Ainsworth a troop carrier and also in Okinawa. After returning home Shorty worked for Home Dairies until 1951 when he was hired by the US Post Office in Nampa, Idaho. Shorty carried every route in Nampa by foot at one time or another and moved to a rural route the last part of his career. He retired after 38 years of service. He often commented how much he enjoyed working for the Post Office. Shorty married Marie Jones in 1951. They had one child. Shorty was a member of Elks 1389 and was awarded life time membership in 2020. He was an outgoing man and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and bowling. Shorty discovered Golf in 1969 and that became his favorite. He played all the tournaments he could, and as many courses in the surrounding states as possible. Once Shorty retired they enjoyed traveling in a 5th Wheel. Shorty is survived by his daughter LeeOnna and husband Walter Faltinson of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents JB and Ellen Clark, His two brothers Harold Clark of Spokane, Washington and Charles Clark of Boise, Idaho. His wife of 66 years Marie Clark passed in 2017. He was a wonderful husband and great dad. He will be missed by all that knew him.
