Born April 30, 1940, in Council, Idaho to William H. Clayton and Charlotte G. Clayton. Arny died peacefully at home on April 27th at the age of 79. Arny was a wonderful and heartful man. He loved spending time with his family and his many friends.
Arny was raised in Weiser, Idaho. He joined the Navy in 1959 and was stationed in San Diego on the USS Henderson.
He met his wife, Linda, in 1982 in Boise, Idaho. He started his career in welding and along with business partners Don Thornton and Todd Gallup, started a successful business in Nampa called Steelhead Metal Corporation, where he retired in 2000.
He loved tinkering around in his garage working on his old cars and woodworking. Fishing and hunting with family and friends was his passion. His favorite places were Dworshak Reservoir in Northern Idaho and C. J. Strike Reservoir. He looked forward to his annual trip to Las Vegas and/or Reno to have fun with family and friends. He loved his dogs dearly, as they brought him so much joy.
Survived by his wife Linda Clayton. Children; Lori Flohr, Troy Clayton, and Lisa Ashfield. Stepchildren; Allan Schoenwald and Lori Schoenwald. Grand Children; Travis Clayton, Cari Clayton, Jake Flohr, Alysha Nijm, Danelle Fogg, Meghan Flohr, Desiree Dorsainvil, Isaiah Buster, Elise Schoenwald. Great Grand Children; Aldrich Schoenwald and Bristol Fogg.
This is not goodbye. His legacy will live on through his family.
