Ardith C. Agenbroad

October 28, 1921 ~ June 28, 2018 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Tribute

Ardith C. Agenbroad, 96, of Nampa left this world Thursday June 28, 2018 to join family and friends awaiting her in heaven for a grand reunion.  Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Knight Community Church, Grand View, ID.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Grand View.

Ardith was born October 28, 1921 in Yuma, CO to Arlie and Mary Jacobsen, the oldest of three children. The family moved to Pomona, CA when she was two where her dad learned the plastering business from his father-in-law. This trade ultimately took them to southwest Idaho in 1932 living in various parts of the Treasure Valley. The Jacobsens attended Southside Methodist Church in Nampa where they met the Agenbroad family and the rest is history.  Ernest (Ernie) proposed to Ardith (Ardie) on Valentine’s Day 1940 and they were married November 30, 1941, making their first home at 12th Avenue and Missouri Lane, home of Agenbroad & Sons Fruit Orchards.  This busy farm wife became even busier as their five sons began to arrive.  Even so they always found time for community activities which included Southside Methodist Church, Southside Grange, pinochle and bridge clubs.  Never a dull moment!

In 1965 they moved to Grand View, ID where Ernie managed the farming operations of Triangle Dairy and Ardith worked at home and the local telephone office as well as the election board.  Once again, they were active in all aspects of the community including church, school, Lions Club, bowling, various card groups, square dancing, camping, fishing and later the Senior Center.  Ernie passed away in 1994 but Ardith maintained her active lifestyle with lots of traveling and enjoying the grandkids, taking lots of pictures of each and every adventure!  In 2013 Ardith moved to Nampa but always called Grand View home and jumped at any chance to make the trip to Owyhee County to reconnect with friends there.  And a more devoted and generous friend would be hard to find.  She will be greatly missed by many but most of all by her family!

Survivors include five sons, Darrel (Colleen) of Grand View, Gary (Barbara) of Albuquerque, NM, Merlin (Julie) of Kemmerer, WY, Mark (April) of Meridian, and Tod (Alba) of Santa Fe, NM, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Ardith was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernie, sister Mary Lou Young and brother Jim Jacobsen.

Memorials may be made to Knight Community Church or Rimrock Senior Citizen Center in Grand View.
