Al John Mengon (Alley-Oop)
Al was born September 7, 1943 in Butte, Montana. He was raised by his mother Ann and step father Homer McGill. He reacquainted with his father Al Sr., who spent his last days with Al and Kerrie. He graduated from Butte High School. He married Alice Reick in 1963 and shortly after moved To Salt Lake City Utah to attend Electronics School. They moved back to Butte and Al worked for Ocellos Furniture as a Television repair man. Al opened his own TV Repair Shop. He also worked for Anaconda Company as an electrician. They moved to Nampa Idaho and Al opened another Television Repair. Al started working for Amalgamated Sugar as an Instrumentation Technician. Al was a truck driver for many years prior to retiring. Al was the father of Barb, Todd, Dave and had a stepdaughter Jessica. He was Grandpa to Brianna, Drew, JJ (Barb); Lane, Tanner( Todd) Cameron, Jaden Taryn (Dave) and Sydney (Jessica)
Al was a Montana boy and loved to go back to his home state to visit He would have moved back to Montana except for the cold winters; BRRRRR. Al was a jack of all trades, but a master of none. In his younger years, he taught archery in Montana, a safety inspector for OSHSA. He had his own photography studio and enjoyed taking a variety of themes including animals, flowers, scenery, people—sometimes even relatives. He had a green thumb.He loved camping and fishing with Kerrie. Sometimes they would take a side trip to gamble in Jackpot, always came home with their pants on but no extra coin.He had a way to make anyone listen to him. He even convinced a wild city squirrel to sit on his knee, take nuts and listen to his stories.
