Tribute

Aaron Sidney Cuttlers passed away on October 1st, 2020 at home in Nampa, Idaho.

Aaron was born on April 16th, 1937 in Bayard, Nebraska to S.E. and Lula Mae (Keil) Cuttlers at his grandparents home, Earl and Mary Keil. He started school in Bayard. The family moved to Nyssa, OR where he graduated with the class of 1957. In 1959, Aaron married and later divorced Joan Anderson and of that union, 2 children were born:  Karen and Jon.

Aaron served in the National Guard for several years including a year at Fort Lewis in Washington. He was very proud of his service to his country.
On April 21st 1973 at the Methodist Church in Vale, Aaron married Mary Ellen Kochsmeier, the love of his life, and he thought that was a very good deal! They lived in Caldwell for several years then moved to Nampa.

Aaron had many jobs throughout life starting out working at age 14 at a gas station then managing gas stations, working for Carnation, Boise Cascade, and eventually having his own paining business with Mary Ellen. He was always willing to help out a friend in need.

He and Mary Ellen loved spending time camping, hunting and fishing. He also loved history. If you sat down for any amount of time with Aaron you’d hear a hunting or fishing story, a story about an old mine or railyard or a story about his dogs who were all just 2nd behind Mary Ellen. His other passion was classic cars and belonged to Mopars Unlimited.

Aaron is survived by his wife of 47 years: Mary Ellen Cuttlers, and his children: Karen Jennings and Jon (Ginger) Cuttlers. He is also survived by a special son-in-law and daughter-in-law Mike and Mary Wiley, 8 grandchildren (and spouses) and 5 great granddaughters. He was so proud of his grandchildren and great granddaughters. He is also survived by 2 sisters and 5 brothers as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and all of their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, his father in law and mother in law, 2 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, and a granddaughter.

Aaron will be laid to rest during a ceremony on October 15th at 2:00 pm at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery: 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise, ID 83714. Due to Covid-19 conditions, masks will be required as well as social distancing.
