Whitney Jo Machos, née Price, died peacefully in her sleep, early in the morning on Friday, July 28th, 2017.  She was born in Pocatello, ID to James W. Price and Sandra M. Price.  While her father served in the United States Army, she moved several times between Oklahoma, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia and Alabama until her father’s death in November 1975 caused her family to move home to Idaho.  In 1978, her mother was remarried to Jack VanHorn and he became the loving father she had always wanted.

In the summer of 1988, Whitney married her first husband, Donald J. Kuper and together they had a daughter, Tara.  After Whitney and Don divorced, she was remarried to the love of her life, Michael D. Machos, in September of 1992.

Whitney dedicated her life to helping others and bettering her community, first as a public servant through the Idaho Association of Counties and later as a medical assistant with the Internal Medicine division of St. Luke’s Meridian.

Above all else, Whitney valued family.  Her love ones will always remember her for her excitement on Christmas mornings, her joy in gardening and decorating her dream home and her love of Dr. Pepper.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday, August 5th at 1604 W. Orchard Ave, Nampa, ID 83651.

Whitney is survived by her husband, Mike; her mother and father, Jack and Sandy; her daughter, Tara; son-in-law, Sean; her stepchildren, Amanda, Ryan and Cody; her brother, Eric; her nephew and niece, Nick and Brandi and four grandchildren.
