Rose Marie (Jayo) Smith, 93, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.

She was born on September 9, 1924 in Emmett, Idaho to Escolastico “Escola” and Marie (Ryska) Jayo.

Rose married Thomas G. Smith on March 17, 1946 at his folks’ home in Meridian.  They farmed as well as worked away. Rose worked at the Industrial Accident Commission in Boise and then the Ada County Dairymen’s Association which is now the Dairy Farmers of America for 21 years.

She is survived by two sons; Ronald (Artie) Smith and Lyle Smith; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlene Brooks of Boise; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Mike; two brothers; one sister and one granddaughter.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa.  Burial will conclude at Kuna Cemetery.
