Loyd “Huston” Howard went to be with his heavenly father on September 6th, 2017 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Huston was born on March 4, 1954 in Kentucky to Joseph and Elma Howard. He was one of 5 children. Huston attended Madison North Hopkins High School in Madisonville, Kentucky. In 1991 Huston met Guyla Easter in Birmingham, Alabama. They would later leave Alabama to move closer to Guyla’s family in Idaho. Huston later married Guyla Easter on September 8th, 1992 in Caldwell, ID. Little did Huston know that when marrying Gulya he would be joining a big family that included 3 step children; Lee, Ron, and Kimberly Easter, and 5 grandchildren; Serena, Rebecca, Jessica, Adam, and David. In 2006 he would become a great grandfather to Anna-Marie Jones followed by 5 more great grandchildren; Joshua, Austin, Zachary, Emma, and Kimberly.

Huston was a talented craftsman and was known for building some beautiful upscale homes. Huston loved being surrounded by his family and Sundays were spent with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He enjoyed playing games with the family and held the record for the most Yahtzee’s in one game, 16! Huston loved fishing and being outdoors, he loved the mountains and taking trips with his beloved wife Guyla. He enjoyed putting together puzzles and had several of his master pieces hanging throughout his home. Huston loved his pets or as he and Guyla would call them, “their children”. At Huston’s time of death he had his sweet dog, Angel, his best buddy, Cali (the cat), and his bird, Echo, by his side. Huston was strong in his faith and found a second home with St. Paul’s Catholic Church. He was also very proud of his place among the Knights of Columbus. Huston will be truly missed by all those he left behind.

Huston is survived by his wife; Guyla Howard, 3 brothers; Joe, Kenneth, and Dennis, 1 sister; Markeitha, his children; Elizabeth Michelle Lopp, Ron Easter, and Kimberly (Arthur) Scovell, his grandchildren; Serena Lubacky, Rebecca (Shanda Whitmore)Conaty, Jessica (Derek) Reed, Adam Mumm, and David Gonzales, his great grandchildren; Anna-Marie Jones, Austin Jones, Zachary Jones, Joshua Aguayo, Emma Mladineo, Kimberly Mumm, and two other great grandchildren out of his hometown in Kentucky, 1 niece; Lyndie Brown, 1 nephew; Brian Brown, and a son-in-law Len Galus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Elmo Howard, his in-laws; Guy and Mary McFarland, his sister-in-law; Shirley Brown, and his son; Lee Easter.

There will be a recitation of the Rosary on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nampa with Mass following at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Knights of Columbus in Nampa, Idaho.
