Junior E. Randell 92, of Nampa, passed away at his home on August 17, 2017.
He was born January 23, 1925 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. He graduated from Fruitland High School in 1943.
He married Elene Walz on January 2, 1945. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in June 1966.
He entered the Army during WWII and served from January 1945 until August 1946 in Japan.
He farmed from the age of 15 until he moved to Nampa in 1960. He worked for Idaho Concrete Pipe and ran a trailer court on Caldwell Blvd.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in which he served in many callings. His greatest joy was taking care of the church's Camp Glenwood in Garden Valley.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling with his dear wife.
He had great wood-working skills and made many things for friends and family.
He loved to help anyone in need. He liked to clear the snow from the neighbor’s driveways in the winter time.
He will be missed by his wife of 72 years; his 4 children, Carol Burtlow (Jim), Jane Sorensen (Gary), Tim Randell (Margaret), Mark Randell (Lauretta); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna McDowell of Alturas, CA; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651. Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Payette, ID with interment to follow.
