Delores was such a lovely person. She took such wonderful care of our little daughter Michelle when she just a few months old. She was a great mother and a respected leader in our state. She was so very special to us.

Sitting in to watch Rev & Tax Committee as well as other committees, I was always so impressed with this gentle and wise woman. She had the sweetest smile, and a kind but stern look when she was not pleased when things were not going along properly. She was balanced, directed, and patient but clearly felt it was important to take care of the State's business and serve the citizens of Idaho. Such a big presence in such a little package! An intelligent woman with a dry sense of humor. I enjoyed watching her work and respected her so very much. She left big shoes to fill when she retired from the Legislature. My condolences to her family. Val Brooks, Eagle

I was a committee secretary at the House side of the Legislature for 10 years. Delores occasionally ate lunch with the House secretaries, and I got to know her as a delightful person. When a legislator sponsored a bill that received less than 20 votes, a black crow was put on his or her desk until the next "less than 20 vote bill." When Ron Crane sponsored a bill that received less than 20 votes, the crow was being placed on his desk when Delores solemnly said, "I trust the crow will be treated gently in the Crane's nest." It brought the House down.

Back in the day, while growing up, most kids had their mom and dad who raised and nurtured them into adulthood. Some of us were even more fortunate and had relationships with “supplementary” parents whose kindness, wisdom and example provided guidance and a richness to their young lives that augmented their upbringing in a positive and uplifting manner. I was one of those fortunate kids, and Delores was one of those ancillary parents. As mother to one of my oldest and dearest friends, Steve Crow, I cannot remember not knowing her, and I cannot remember not cherishing her.

She will be missed by many, but she will be reunited with those who put their hope in Jesus. Find comfort in the fact that she is at home with her Lord where He will wipe away every tear from her eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. All my Love to Steve, David, Mike, Susan, Kathy and Janie. Sincerely, Kevin Wallis

We so enjoyed working with Dolores during the many years of her legislative service. The citizens of Idaho are fortunate to have experienced her representation. She was a true patriot and a positive force of nature. With our sympathy, Melissa & Randy Nelson

Dolores left a lasting impression on my childhood! Wayne, Dolores, and my parents Harold and Pat Danner were friends thru the Exchange Club. We Did a lot thru that association and always had five nights at the Snake River Stampede together. She was so kind and always had a smile for this kid! Her warm heart and Wayne's laugh have always stayed with me thru years! I was so happy when she got into politics! I will forever remember her! RIP dear Dolores! You and Wayne are rocking heaven!
