Through the years I have wondered where Gary's life had taken him since the early 60's. My family lived around the corner from him and his grandparents there in Emory and he was a regular at our house where the neighborhood seemed to congregate, especially friends of my brother Gene. Gary was a fun guy. He loved to dance and NOone could do The Twist better than he! He loved Rock 'n Roll!!
A couple of days ago a mutual friend and I were reminiscing those schooldays in Emory and again we wondered about Gary. We googled and found this obituary and were saddened.....saddened that he had passed away, and saddened that he had lived in Mineola for 18 years and we had no idea. So close, and we didn't know. He was a special part of my life in those Jr & Sr High years in Emory where he was just one grade ahead of me.
I just wanted to let his family know, even though it is almost 6 years late, that I am so sorry for your loss and know that he is still thought of and missed.

God Always Remembers You in your mourning and will give you His peace and comfort when you most need it. My father told me to celebrate his life with these words, "We live forever in two ways: If we know Jesus as Lord and in the memories of everyone we leave behind." V.W. Kins. I use those words at every Memorial Service I do at the Care Center here. I am still learning things about my folks as I share memories of them with others that knew and loved them. I have prayed for you.

Gary, you will be dearly missed. You and Earlene have been shining Lights to so many, with your encouraging words, helping hands and ready smiles. The years invested in fellowship in Mineola Texas, with the White Family will long be fondly remembered.

I will miss the way you called me "girl friend" when we talked. You were a super goof. Love you Gary, and I'm so glad you're home now and have no more pain.
